Thoughts from Community Board
Greetings 4th day of the Southwest Indiana Walk to Emmaus. Our board thanks you for trusting us to manage the business of our community and with God’s direction, continue to guide SIWE through another year of life changing weekends that go far beyond the gates of Camp Illiana. The ripple effect from the walks of 2024 are being seen in our community and will continue to be seen for years to come. We give God all the glory and praise for His continued work through this community and are praying for His blessings in 2025.
Team preparations are underway for the three spring 2025 walks and we know that God is planning on great things happening at Camp Illiana. You are a big part of making these weekends successful. Prayer is such a vital part of the weekend so please begin to pray for the teams and pilgrims. Pray about serving a meal or providing agape to the team or pilgrims. Maybe there is a special person in your life that God has laid on your heart to sponsor and we ask that you pray that it is the right time for them to attend a weekend. Please remember that the Walk to Emmaus is not designed to be a fix-all for broken people, although we certainly see it work this way often. It is designed for people who have the foundation of a relationship with Christ and who are active in their churches. The goal is for pilgrims to come to camp and leave with that relationship deepened and better equipped for their roles as Christian leaders in their churches, homes, workplaces and communities. Our walks have benefited from excellent sponsorship this past year and we pray that trend continues to maintain the health of our SIWE community.
Our website has plenty of information for what is going on in our SIWE community as well as what’s happening within the BIC community. As always you are welcome to reach out to any of us on the board any time you have questions or concerns.
We appreciate your assistance in making this one of the best Emmaus communities in the country. Through God’s help and guidance, we will continue to make a ripple effect that will last for generations to come. It is always a blessing to share time serving and worshipping at camp and gatherings with so many of you and I am thankful to be looking ahead to many more of these opportunities in 2025!

Gatherings
Hello fellow Fourth Day members! My name is Stephanie Henning and I am the board representative in charge of coordinating the local Fourth Day Emmaus Gatherings. Our gatherings are held during the months that have no Emmaus Walk or BIC Youth event. If you attend a church that would be willing to host a gathering; are musically inclined and willing to lead worship at a gathering; or know of someone who would be a great witness speaker at a gathering….please feel free to contact me at brownie8000@hotmail.com or text me @ 812-486-9815.
Blessings,
Stephanie Henning
Help Needed Making Lanyards
Any Fourth Day who would like to make lanyards: SIWE yarn is called MEXICANA. BIC Youth yarn is called RAINBOW BRIGHT (Caron Simply Soft Paints Yarn #4 Medium). Some use a Embellish-knit machine to make them. Embellish-knit machines (more modern but on the same principal as the old spool with nails) are available for purchase online at bond-america.com or by calling Bond America at 1-800-811-2325.
