On behalf of the Board of Directors of
the Southwest Indiana Walk to Emmaus (SIWE), we would like to thank the 4th day
members for their continued prayers and devotion to our Emmaus community.
It takes a lot of hard work each walk season to orchestrate these events.
From the Lay Directors all the way down to the Week-End Helpers. This brings to
mind , 1 Corinthians 12:12 For as the body is one and has many members, but
all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.
Each one of us Fourth Day plays a very important part of this body.
Whether it be sponsoring a pilgrim, serving on a team, serving meals,
making agape, participating in the 72-hour prayer vigil, attending a gathering
or candlelight, and the list goes on and on. There is a role for everyone
to play in the Emmaus community and no one duty is more important than the
other. Christ calls us all to serve in different ways. But each form
of Agape is needed to make each walk special for the pilgrims.
We want to thank Camp Illiana for the
facilities they offer for our walks. Ben and the staff work very
hard to keep our needs met in every way. It seems they are constantly
upgrading some part of the camp. In return, we ask you help us to always
return the camp as good or better than we found it. This will insure that
we can all enjoy this special place for many years to come. As you enjoy
the Campground you are likely to notice many upgrades that have taken place over
the past couple of years and there are more planned.
Obviously, sponsorship is a key part to
building the Emmaus community. However, we ask that you prayerfully
consider individuals when sponsoring. Emmaus is intended for those who
regularly attend a church and are looking to deepen their relationship with
Christ. It is this deepening relationship that moves those individuals to
become Christian leaders.
Walk dates can be found near the bottom
of this page. We ask for your prayers for the Emmaus community, the teams
and pilgrims, and the Board of Directors as we make decisions for the community,
always seeking Gods will in everything we do. Please feel free to contact
any of the board members if you have question or concern. Our contact
information is listed on this website. We meet monthly (1st Tuesday of
each month) at First Baptist Church in Petersburg, Indiana, at 7:00pm
In Christ love

To our 4th Day community,
We wanted to inform you both the BIC and SIWE boards have decided to postpone the fall flights and walks.
Please trust this decision was not made lightly but after much prayer, fasting, and seeking wisdom and guidance.
Please continue to keep our communities, nation, leaders, etc in your prayers during this challenging time.
We are still planning to hold the December Men’s walk. Questions or concerns , contact a board rep.
The Fall 2020 walks will take place in the Spring 2021.
Thank you and DeColores . Com. Lay Director, Marc Flaningam.

Women's Walk 6
WOMEN’S WALK 61
It is a pleasure and honor to serve God and the Southwest Indiana Walk to Emmaus Community as we prepare for Women’s Walk 61, which will be held March ??, 2021. It is easy to believe that God would do things for others but we just don’t know if we are worthy to receive His blessings for ourselves. This doubt is preventing us from living the abundant life He promises! We have to change our mindset and proclaim (no matter what) “YES! He loves ME. Yes! He forgave ME. Yes! He wants to grant ME the desires of MY heart. AND be fully persuaded in our hearts! The woman with the issue of blood, the thief on the cross and Jarius, among others, would not have seen the Glory of God had they not been fully persuaded that Jesus was who He said He was. That is my prayer for the pilgrims AND team!
The theme for Women’s Walk 61 is “I believe. Show me Your glory”. In John 11:40, Jesus said to Mary and Martha, “Did I not tell you that if you believe you will see the glory of God?” The theme song is “Show me Your Glory” by Third Day. I painted our theme picture based on something I saw several years ago that reminded me of the Glory of God.
Agape is a very important part of Emmaus. People tell me they look at their agape over and over again! Please pray about providing Agape to the Pilgrims. Those little gifts, trinkets and cards mean so much. We also would appreciate any “Green Agape” for our Cooks and would love to see you help serve at any of the meals. Most importantly, we ask for continued prayers for the pilgrims and for our team.
