On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Southwest Indiana Walk to Emmaus (SIWE), we would like to thank the 4th day members for their continued prayers and devotion to our Emmaus community. The Walk to Emmaus is founded on biblical truths. Galatians 5:22-23 talks about the Fruit of the Spirit, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” The Fruit of the Spirit is the spontaneous work of the Holy Spirit in us. Just like they are found in the nature of Christ, the Spirit produces these characteristics in us when we join our lives to His. We must know Him, love Him, remember Him, and imitate Him. That is what we are called to do as 4th day. There are many ways to show God’s agape love as 4th day: serving meals, working on a team, being part of the 72 hour prayer vigil, sending agape gifts, writing letters, sponsoring a pilgrim, and many other ways. We so appreciate the tremendous support and encouragement 4th day gives to keep our SIWE community strong and thriving. God is using us to grow and strengthen His Kingdom.
We want to thank Camp Illiana for the facilities they offer for our walks. Ben and the staff work very hard to keep our needs met in every way. In return, we ask you help us to always return the camp as good or better than we found it.
Obviously, sponsorship is a key part to building the Emmaus community. However, we ask that you prayerfully consider individuals when sponsoring. The Emmaus Walk is intended for those who regularly attend a church and are looking to deepen their relationship with Christ. It is this deepening relationship that moves those individuals to become Christian leaders.
Walk dates can be found near the bottom of this page. We ask for your prayers for the Emmaus community, the teams and pilgrims, and the Board of Directors as we make decisions for the community, always seeking God’s will in everything we do. Please feel free to contact any of the board members if you have questions or concerns. Our contact information is listed on this website. We meet monthly (1st Tuesday of each month) at First Baptist Church in Petersburg, Indiana, at 7:00pm
Love and Blessings

News from the Emmaus Board of Directors: Due to developments of the Governing mandate and also Upper Room suggestion, the 2021 Spring walks have been postponed. The Board realizes all the hard work, prayer and efforts that have been put forth and we appreciate it all. But we as a community of Emmaus owe it to both the Team, Pilgrims and Fourth day to protect their health and do our part to help curb the spread of the virus. This was a very difficult decision and we ask that you keep all involved in prayer and continue to pray for our Country and SIWE community. Thank you.

MEN’S WALK 61A
Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV “Call to me and I answer you, and tell you great and mighty things which you
do not know.” This is the scripture theme for Men’s Walk 61A which has been postponed.
As Lay Director, I am encouraged by the men who have been called to serve and so willingly have
said “yes”. As we prepare for this weekend, we covet your prayers for the Team and for the
Pilgrims who will be coming to meet Jesus face to face. Our prayer as a Team is that they will
return home much differently than when they came and be empowered to serve in their
churches and most of all be the heads of their families.
The theme for the weekend is “Great Things” in reference to the Jeremiah 33:3 scripture. The
theme song is “Great Things” by Phil Wickham. Please be in prayer concerning agape for the bed
or table for these Pilgrims, marking it according to where it is to be distributed. Green agape is
welcomed to help our Cooks with the cost of food for the weekend.
We have 55 team members planning on serving the weekend and are asking the 4th day to pray about
sponsoring pilgrims, as there's room on the pilgrim list. Also, pray about signing the prayer chart electronically (by clicking on the link below)
or by calling the ALD Chris Minderman.
We look forward to seeing our 4th Day being the hands and feet of Jesus. Should you feel led to
help serve in anyway on the weekend, please feel free to contact any of the Heads below:

Women's Walk 6
WOMEN’S WALK 61
It is a pleasure and honor to serve God and the Southwest Indiana Walk to Emmaus Community as we prepare for Women’s Walk 61, which has been scheduled for September 16-19. It is easy to believe that God would do things for others but we just don’t know if we are worthy to receive His blessings for ourselves. This doubt is preventing us from living the abundant life He promises! We have to change our mindset and proclaim (no matter what) “YES! He loves ME. Yes! He forgave ME. Yes! He wants to grant ME the desires of MY heart. AND be fully persuaded in our hearts! The woman with the issue of blood, the thief on the cross and Jarius, among others, would not have seen the Glory of God had they not been fully persuaded that Jesus was who He said He was. That is my prayer for the pilgrims AND team!
The theme for Women’s Walk 61 is “I believe. Show me Your glory”. In John 11:40, Jesus said to Mary and Martha, “Did I not tell you that if you believe you will see the glory of God?” The theme song is “Show me Your Glory” by Third Day. I painted our theme picture based on something I saw several years ago that reminded me of the Glory of God.
Agape is a very important part of Emmaus. People tell me they look at their agape over and over again! Please pray about providing Agape to the Pilgrims. Those little gifts, trinkets and cards mean so much. We also would appreciate any “Green Agape” for our Cooks and would love to see you help serve at any of the meals. Most importantly, we ask for continued prayers for the pilgrims and for our team.
